Electrical Installation Condition Reports (EICR)

Electrical Testing UK & Installations carries out Electrical Installation Condition Reports (EICRs) for commercial, industrial, and public sector clients.

Our qualified engineers inspect and test your fixed electrical installation and identify any damage, deterioration, or non-compliance with current wiring regulations. They then provide a clear written report, and importantly, it includes straightforward guidance on any remedial action required. And through our client portal, you can view every EICR and its remedial actions in real time across all your sites, so you always know exactly where you stand.

EICR: FAQs

What happens during an EICR inspection?
First, our engineer carries out a visual inspection. Then they run a series of electrical tests on your fixed installation, including the distribution board, wiring, earthing and bonding, sockets, and fixed equipment. Throughout, they check for defects and compliance with BS 7671.

How are EICR fault codes classified and what do they mean?
Each issue is given a code: C1 indicates immediate danger, C2 requires urgent remedial work, C3 is a non-urgent improvement recommendation, and FI means further investigation is needed, all explained clearly in the report.

How long does an EICR take and what should I expect on the day?
A commercial EICR usually takes two to four hours, whereas larger commercial or industrial sites take longer. Therefore, we provide a time estimate in advance, and we manage any circuit isolation to minimise disruption.

How do I receive my EICR certificate?
We issue the certificate electronically by email, and you can also access it via the customer portal. In addition, it includes a summary of any required remedial work and priority levels where applicable.

What happens if my EICR identifies remedial work?
We provide a written quote for any remedial work. Because we complete it in-house, you avoid the need for multiple contractors.
